Elena Korchagina

Work experience
Prior to joining Kesarev in April 2019, Elena had an internship in the Department of Metallurgy at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In addition, she completed an internship at the State Duma’s Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veteran’s Affairs.

Previously, Elena gained valuable political affairs experience working for several successful regional election campaigns in the Irkutsk Region as a personal assistant to candidates and as a campaign activist.

Responsibilities in Kesarev
In Kesarev, Elena is responsible for analysis of the regulatory environment and issues management, with a focus on the agricultural/food, FMCG and IT/travel sectors. In the last two years, Elena has gained extensive experience in anti-crisis consulting for foreign companies with regards to the transactions’ approval procedures within the Sub-Commission of the Government Commission for Foreign Investments Control including leading the successfully completed dividend cases, intragroup restructurings and sale transactions. Of particular importance is Elena’s participation in projects to protect foreign assets in Russia in the face of risks of external administration or nationalisation.

Background
Elena attained a master’s in Political Science from the Higher School of Economics (HSE) and holds a bachelor of International Relations from Kazan Federal University.

She was selected to represent Russia at the UN Vienna headquarters as a member of the youth delegation. She also participated in working sessions of the Assembly as the UN was undergoing a transformation of its Sustainable Development Goals. As part of her studies, Elena completed a course on conflict analysis at the University of Vienna.

Languages
Along with her native Russian, Elena is fluent in English and has basic knowledge of French and Chinese (Mandarin).
