The GR-club of Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL) in cooperation with Kesarev organized the first championship for students enthusiastic about government relations.
Participants from various Russian universities had an opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice and propose strategies for engaging with authorities while completing the tasks prepared by our colleagues.
The championship consisted of two stages. At the qualifying stage we invited students to solve a written case and prepare an analytical memo on the topic "Regulation of duty-free import of goods for personal use within the framework of the EAEU". Kesarev team as well as other practicing GR specialists at large companies carefully studied all the submitted materials and selected 9 finalists who would get to present their solution to them on the “Approval of the law about Russian shelf" at the head-to-head final stage.
The final of the Case Cup was held at the House of Science of Kutafin Moscow State Law University on the 31st of May 2024. The panel of judges met with the participants, listened attentively to their speeches, and asked them to explain and clarify certain elements of their proposed solution for which the competitors were awarded points.
Yury Panasik, partner at Kesarev, awarded 4 teams with diplomas and memorable gifts after finalising the results. The top-performing pair took 1st place and won the grand prize – an internship at our company.

Zlata Barsukova, a member of the winning team, briefly commented on her participation: "It's great that there are such events as the GR Case Cup, where you can dive deeper into the area, feel like a true GR specialist and understand if the profession really suits you. Participation in the case championship has greatly expanded my horizons, particularly in customs law, which I am sure will be useful. While solving the proposed cases, it was exciting to reflect on the reasons for the adoption of the law".
We congratulate all the participants and wish them professional growth in the world of GR!
