"Parts of Russian political elite consider Putin a 'lame duck' since re-election," – Yury Panasik

March 20, 2018
Kesarev Partner Yury Panasik comments the Russian Presidential elections for the US edition of Forbes magazine. "Putin can see in this situation a significant risk of decline in establishment loyalties and even possible political destabilization," he says. For Panasik, a Russia post-Putin is already something to consider and that alone might exert significant influence on Putin's decisions in the first months of his new term.

More details on the aftermath of the Russian presidential elections (March 18) and what to expect from the first year from re-elected president and new government are provided in a memo prepared by Kesarev and are available here in Russian and in English.
